What Is Male Menopause Called
Who's got it harder: Males or Females?
My friend and I (we're both female) decided to make a list of all the things women have to bear in society physically and emotionally all over the world:
Pains and stress of childbirth
emotional pains of miscarrying/losing a baby
PMS, cramps, monthly for 40+ yrs
menopause
bladder infections
unwanted pregnancies/abortion
social oppression since Adam and Eve
job discrimination
feeling dominated by men
called sluts and whores for promiscuity
pressure from media to be deathly thin
pressure to be beautiful
running the family
sacrificing job to stay @ home w/ kids
rape and sexual abuse
date rape drugs
domestic violence towards women
higher rates of depression
female circumcision or abandonment in third world countries
islamic oppression of women
Is there anything women or men would like to add? We'd also like to see a male list, so go ahead guys! Maybe we can understand the troubles both genders have.
And what's your personal opinion: who's got it harder? Why?
Great question! I don't think either has it harder - just different. Here's my list for the men. I've tried to match your entries with male equivalents.
Higher rates of accidental death.
Higher rates of suicide (5-6 times in teens & twenties)
Lower life expectancy
Assumed by women to be sexual predators (rapists, abusers)
Responsibilities but no rights over pregnancies
Uncertainty over whether a kid is really ours
Sacrificing freedom for the sake of commitment
Sexual performance anxiety
Male menopause & loss of libido
Domestic emotional abuse by women
Having to live with *your* PMS for 40+ years
Pressure to be fit
Shaving daily
Don't get the pleasure of leaving work to look after the kids.
Fewer sexual opportunities than women
Greater emotional vulnerability
Underachievement at school (in the UK anyway)
Financing the family
Financial repsonsibility prevents change in life direction
Often forced to be the one who punishes the kids.
