Surgical Menopause And Depression

surgical menopause?

Does anyone know a real way to help with surgical menopause
symptoms and problems. I mean something you have tried and
found it works. Not something you read.

I ran out of my hormon patches and while I hear you should take them I am getting bad hotflashes but dont feel as tired as i did while i had my patches. But with or without the patch I am feeling mood swings, loss of concentration, sleeping problems, depression. I was never like this before my surgery.

I take vitamin E
I take coral calcium
I take vitamin b 12

what else should I do

I fully understand and sympathise with you.I'm menopausal and at times it really gets me down.I've tried HRT but just could not get on with it,whilst it was fine for reducing hot flushes and helped alittle with mood swings,it also made me feel tired and lose my sex drive. So I stopped altogether.
I've tried things like Black Cohosh,Primrose Oil,natural forms of hormone replacement but didn't notice a lot of difference.
Now I just take Omega Oils and try to deal with it the best I can,I have noticed my mood swings aren't quite as bad, but, unfortunately the hot flushes are still as bad, particularly at night, when I have to have windows open even if it's blowing a gale outside and my hubby's shivering under the duvet, luckily he understands a little better now how I'm suffering!
I have heard that Soya milk is beneficial,I've tried it but didn't like that either.
Maybe you should go back to your GP and ask for a review,in the meantime I'll have a search on the internet and see what else I can find.
I might also add that my doc put me on Venlafaxine to help with depression,so far, touch wood, with that and the Omegas I seem to be doing ok.
It's a personal choice really, what works for one may not work for another, but whatever you decide on I hope you soon get the relief you need.

I've just found a few sites that may be of interest. On one of them they recommend something called Mellowpause which treats all symptoms, which is excellent if it actually does what it says..I'm going to get some myself and find out!
