Perimenopause Spotting Brown
Weird periods...perimenopause?
I will be 41 in May. My periods for most of my years have been like clockwork, every 28-29 days with a 4-5 day period. For the past couple of years, the cycle changed but still remained regular at a 25 days cycle with a 3-4 or 5 day period. In the past year or so, every few months I would miss a complete period (no pregnancy) only to have the normal period return the next month. This year it's been wacky. 18 days ago I stopped what was a 22 day period of spotting, very light pink to brown spotting. It was consistent throughout that 22 day time period. Yesterday, I started what seems to be a regular period, a bit heavier than normal and with some very small, minute clotting. I don't have insurance so I don't want to go to my OBGYN just yet and he has mentioned in the past that I may start going through the change sooner than most. Please, I would love to hear from anyone who has experienced this kind of thing. Thank you.
It rather sounds like you are menopausal, I had very similar symptoms for a period of 3 years and then my periods just kept getting further and further apart until they stopped completely. I was 43 when I started having "abnormal" periods after years of being extremely regular.
