Perimenopause Gas
Gas passing out from vaginal or urethral.?
This morning I am experiencing a lot of gas passing out from my vaginal or urethral (not sure which) but it is definately not from the anus. I have been light period for 2 weeks and is still going. I didn't have intercouse for more than 3 weeks. A little dull pain at the lower abdomen. I think I'm in perimenopause. I wonder it is normal or something wrong? Wrong in where? Gastro Intestine (GI) or Gynae or Uro?
Thanks
Hi,
I know i'm not a lady, but I am a registered nurse with over 5 years nursing experience including emergency.
You didn't state your age?
However old you are, I have never heard of gas passing through the front area. Although, thinking about it, it can be possible. To me, it sounds like it could be a fistula which has formed. This is a opening between the anus and vagina. I doubt it could be connected with your urethra as you didn't mention any UTI symptoms. The slight pain you are experiencing also suggests my idea of a fistula.
I hope you don't have a fistula, if you do, you will most likely need surgery. You will definately need to go see your local doctor as soon as you can and they can assess you because no one can assess you over the internet or on the phone.
Please just don't let this go... If it is a fistula, you could get an infection, which could lead to more complications.
Good luck dear.
