Would Having Less Menstrual Periods Delay Menopause?

I've seen commercials about extended-cycle birth control brands advertising that the use of these products will allow you to have less periods throughout the year (Depo Provera & Seasonale). With less eggs maturing and being released through the menstrual cycle, would this delay menopause years?

That is a very good question... since it's a new thing, there might not be any actual evidence yet. Hormonal changes come from more than just the eggs so I'm not sure
