Menopause Symptoms Concentration
early menopause?
i am 34 years of age and have been suffering with a variety of symptoms for about 18 months now, recently they are becoming worse.
i suffer with hot flushes but only in my chest and neck, these happen about once a month. i suffer night sweats about 4 nights a month and insomnia for about 2-3 nights on the trot, then nothing for about 2-3 weeks.
I need the toilet all the time, am tired and irritable, and have a great deal of difficulty concentrating - this is getting gradually worse as is my forgetfullness. (Actually starting to become embarressing).
i have also started to put on a lot of weight around my middle when i used to always gain it on my chest and backside. i also get a lot of headaches, these are closely related to the memory loss and lack of concentration. my periods, while still being regular are more frequent and a lot lighter thatn they were a year ago.
i am reluctant to go to my GP as i am concerned that the symptoms may just be something else.
These symptoms do sound hormonal but you really need an appointment with your GP for assessment . Your doctor will be able to run a blood test to check your hormone levels and will be able to tell you if you are in the peri-menopause (the period before menstruation stops).
Although not common, it can happen that the menopause starts in the thirties...or even younger. It is called Premature Menopause at this age. If a younger women does have an early menopause then HRT needs to be considered.
If it isn't the peri-menopause then you need examining to find just what is causing your symptoms. Good Luck.
