Menopause Sweating

What is general dosage of black cohosh, to alleviate flushes and sweats, during menopause ?

The most effective and safe dosage of black cohosh (cimicifuga racemosa) for alleviating Menopause Symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats is 80 mg per day, usually taken as 40 mg in the morning and 40 mg in the evening.

Black cohosh is a phyto-estrogen (natural plant-like estrogen substance) that is a very effective and side effect-free alternative to synthetic hormone replacement therapy. For the best results, black cohosh should be combined with another phyto-estrogen called red clover (trifolium pratense). Together these phyto-estrogens can:

- Reduce hot flushes.
- Stabilize mood.
- Enhance libido.
- Reduce anxiety.
- Reduce problems related to insomnia and quality of sleep.
- Reduce risk of osteoporosis.
