Menopause – Male and Female?

Rosalinda Martinez asked:

When we approach the mid-life, out body goes through its most significant changes since puberty. Technically, this period is called "menopause." It is the phase of a woman's life when her ovaries stop producing eggs and her fertility declines and eventually ceases, beginning anywhere from the early 40'2 to the mid 50's and usually taking two to three years (the case may vary for every woman). Menopause is confirmed when a woman has not had a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months.

But men are not exempted from menopause.

Recent studies provided new insights About Menopause and the problems associated with estrogen deficiency in women and testosterone deficiency in men, many of whom do not know how to deal with this period in their lives.

The loss of estrogen for women brings symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating at night, uncomfortable lack of lubrication fluid in the vagina and a more frequent need to urinate. About seven out of 10 women suffer these effects in varying degrees. Also a gradual but progressive loss of bone mass or osteoporosis that leads to a greater risk of fracture, mood swings, and anxiety or even depression are symptoms, among others.

Doctors recommend maintaining a regular exercise routine, restricting intake of caffeine, sugar and salt, reducing alcohol consumption, taking certain vitamins and minerals (calcium and vitamin E), maintaining regular sufficient schedule, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), antidepressants, combined estrogen/testosterone and taking soy produce and a well-balanced diet.

"Menopause can be confusing," but visiting your doctor and being informed about estrogen deficiency would be beneficial to every woman," says doctor Delfin Tan.

"Spouses should support each other on these issues," another doctor enthuses. " Male and female naturally reach this stage."

According to some doctors, replacing lost hormones through HRT can alleviate The Symptoms Of Menopause and so with the estrogen need of some deprived women (biological requirements of menopause differ). Research indicates that HRT can really make a dramatic difference in coping with the menopause struggle.

And while there are still controversies about some treatment or meddling with nature, the fact is everybody needs medical advice before anything else.

From time to time, local organizers have issued a challenge to women/ and their spouses to be aware of this cause for healthy living. Some forums are also conducted for free, to address menopausal issues and concerns. Check out for information around your communities, and see the benefits of medically preferred treatments.
