Menopause Alternative Therapy

Alternative therapies for menstrual management?

39 and too young for menopause, but can't take these cycles anymore. Heavy, excruciating flows every 3-7 weeks. Pms'ing much longer (usually 1 day, but not 3-4!), way more emotional than I've ever been. Really don't want to go on the pill (did that 20 yrs ago), but what else is out there that is safe????

What I've found works for me is a product called Ovex, which is a dietary supplement put out by Standard Process. Unfortunately, they don't sell it direct but they'll refer you to an alternative medicine person near you who can sell it to you (800-558-8740). It's kind of a pain, even besides having to go out of your way to get them, because it's something you take three times daily for a month or a few months or something like that, but it's the only thing other than the pill that I found really helped me out.
I have also used homeopathics and find them sometimes helpful, and those you can probably find at your local health food store. Sabina is supposed to be good for heavy flow. Magnesia phosphorica and cimifuga racemosa are both supposed to be good for pain during menstruation. Or they've created a kind of multi-homeopathic pill called Cyclease.
Good luck!
