Menopause Age Uk
Is this weight gain something to do with menopause?
I lived in a hot country most of my life, I was never a slim person round about 60 - 65 kilos. Last year I came back to live (aged 50) in the UK. I must admit I found the cold weather unbearable and was a lot hungrier. The salts not salty here, and the sugar isn't sweet. I take two sugars in my tea now, whereas before I was happy with one tspn. I have piled on weight like nobodies business and am now knocking 12 stone. I hate it!! I am not menopausal yet (no hot flushes or scarce periods, still regular as clockwork) but I can't seem to shift the weight. Would the change in climate have made my metabolism change so drastically that I put on all the extra? Or do you get fat Before Menopause? Can't figure it out and all my clothes from before are packed away as I find myself squeezing my jeans shut and boobs popping out the top of my bras...even my feet have got fatter!!! Its a worry because I have put the weight on in such a short period. Anyone been through the same thing?
Stop looking for excuses, people get fat because they eat too much and don't do exercise. Cut out the chocolate biscuits and walk to work once in a while and you'll be fine.
