Male Menopause Testosterone

I asked in Men's health but nothing. Any married older men on here ever (or wives with a husband with this)?

Okay...my fiance is quite young, but is having all the Symptoms Of Male Menopause. Hot Flashes, tender breasts, tearing up at commercials....Anyways, he got his blood tests back and his testosterone count is at 225 (not sure what exactly this means) and his doctor is recommending hormone replacement therapy (shots, eeek!).

Of course we will be sitting down with the doctor soon and grilling her like a cheese sandwich, but in the meantime.....

Any men know what to expect? Did things improve? Did it help your relationship? Any bad side effects?

Would love to hear from people who have been through this, both points of view!
He's 27..so, yes, young.
Fleur...I didn't TD you :-) and yes, we found askmen yesterday, it's awesome!

I'm 51 and I've been a fitness-buff since getting out of the army 31 years ago.

About 1.5 years ago I got my testosterone tested. It was within the normal range but at the low end of normal. My doctor put me on a prescription topical gel called Testim. It definitely helps. I can tell that my muscles are firmer (with no major change to my exercise-routine). On the rare occasion that I forget to take it my energy level is noticeably lower.

Exercise and healthy eating can also boost testosterone levels. He might consider taking a zinc supplement. Good luck.
