Low Libido After Menopause

Questions about surgical menopause.?

I had a hysterectomy just shy of my 31st birthday. I woke up in the hospital having Hot Flashes.

Nine years later, I'm still suffering from hot flashes, night sweats, low libido, and mood swings. Does this ever get better??

I was taking HRT that addressed all of the above issues, and kept me pretty comfortable most of the time. However, because of the risks associated with HRT, my doctor took me off of it.

After bawling and squalling to him about how miserable I was, he agreed to put me back on the same medication, but at half the dosage. Well, I don't even take it half the time, because it's not doing me any good.

My question here is does it ever get better??

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I too am surgically menopausal and I struggled for 5 years until I discovered natural progesterone and it took all my symptoms away. It has been 4 years now and I am still symptoms free. I now run a Yahoo message group if you are interested in learning more and want more support. We have a lot of caring women on our support board.
