Irregular Periods During Menopause
Why am I having Hot Flashes during my period?
I'm 22 and my cycle has always been irregular. Lately my periods have been lasting about 8 - 10 days and I've been getting hot flashes during that time. By hot flashes I mean sweating like a pig in an air conditioned space for no reason. My face gets really hot and it just moves down my body until I'm completely covered in sweat.
I just moved from Delaware to Alabama and the last gyno I saw in Delaware told me that this was completely normal. I'm also having major mood swings too. I'm bipolar to begin with but these are beyond the normal scope of anything I've ever dealt with my bipolar. Its like I'm not taking my medication at all! I'm not using birth control pills or any other hormonal method that would cause this. Could I be going through early menopause?
See a Gyn or Endocrinologist about it.
It sounds like some kind of hormonal imbalance.
That used to happen to me during my teens through to age 31. I had hot flashes and night sweats, but my periods were not that long. Once I went on the pill at age 31, the hot flashes and night sweats all stopped.
Check with a doctor to see what the cause of your problems are.
