Menopause remedies can involve the use of conventional medicine or the use of herbs. The black cohosh is a herbal remedy that is used to offer short term relief. Some people use it to relieve Hot Flashes and night sweats. This herb is also said to treat painful menstruation, irritability, premenstrual syndrome and osteoporosis.

Isoflavones are plant estrogens that are found in soybeans and are also said to relieve some of the symptoms associated with this condition. Other soy products are also used to offer short term Relief From Hot Flashes and night sweats. Although isoflavones and other soy products are safe when taken in dietary amounts, excess consumption may negatively interact with estrogen leading to harm particularly in women who have a history of estrogen-dependent breast cancer.

Chaste berry is also used as a herbal menopause remedy. This plant is also referred to as the monk’s pepper, the Indian spice or wild pepper. People use it to relieve breast pain and premenstrual syndrome. A study that was conducted in women who were using this herb showed some improvement in moods, breast fullness, headaches and anger.

Dong Quai is a Chinese herb that is used to treat menstrual cramps, premenstrual syndrome and other menopausal symptoms. Red clover is another herb that is used to relieve hot flashes. The primrose produces seeds rich in gamma-linolenic acid which some people believe is beneficial to humans. Although there is little evidence that the primrose works, some people take primrose capsules for menopausal symptoms, breast pain and bladder symptoms. You should be careful when it comes to herbal menopause remedies because some of them are not regulated and therefore there is little or no research on whether they work.
