Early Menopause Effects
Early Period Effects on Pregnancy?
Do girls who have an early first period (say starting at age 8 or 9) end up getting menopause really early?
I heard that having your first period at an early age increases the chance of getting menopause really early, like in your 30s. I know women start out with a certain amount of eggs, and I think each period disposes of one? I'm not sure, but if that's the case I can understand why having an early period would increase the inability to have children at an earlier age. I'm really curious about this. I would like to know if an earlier period reduces your chances of being able to successfully have children in the long term as well, or would you lose that ability earlier than the average person? And if so, is there a range? Or is this a complete myth? Anyone know?
I've heard the same story that if you get your period at an early age then you are likely to go through the change early, but I imagine this is a general rule and there are exceptions to everything. I worry about having children past 34/35 because of Downs Syndrome possibilities and other chromosonal defects. Your chances of having problems with fertility increase with age. I've read this before, but I cannot tell you where, but I know this is true.
