Artificial Menopause

what else should i do to treat chronic dry eye?

I have permanent plugs in both tear ducts, i use artificial tears at least 3 times a day. I use hot compresses often.
i hardly wear my contacts, as they fall out and irritate my eyes most times.
this is the most annoying problem i have ever had. (and i have had it for at least 2 years)
it is not from menopause, smoking, or allergies
i have already seen an ophthalmologist, hence the tear duct plugs? I see him nearly every month. he does not want to use restasis because it takes 5 months just to see if it is effective, and its $50 a bottle (which only lasts a month) So just to see if restasis would work, would cost me $250. and stats show that it is only effective in 50% of patients.

keep the eye clean and using gentle massage techniques. Wash your hands before and after touching the eye area.

Restasis seems to have a negative review, apparently working for some people after several months but ceasing to work after nine months or so.

Study the anatomy of the area so that you understand which system of ducts requre the massage technique to be applied.

CDE is a very uncomfortable condition, some people do report a sudden cure of the symptom, I hope you will be one of them.
